My New Cam

UPDATE: the presentation thing seems to be working erratically, so if anyone wants to see all the photos I selected from amsterdam, go here

I bought the friggin camera, and I couldn't be happier. It's awesome. The versatility is amazing, I'm really happy with it. I bought it three days before going to Amsterdam, so I had a blast testing it out over there. Those are 6 of the pics I took, there are more than 20 that I'm not posting yet, to give you a chance to digest these ones first.

Be patient, it takes a minute to load, but hopefully you'll think it's worth it. If you click on any of the images you'll get a bigger version, if you do click on it and it doesn't work, then you might have to permit pop-ups on this website for it to work. Laters.

KurdoKhan - Just Like Heaven (The Cure Cover)

Yeah, it's me and my band, playing Just Like Heaven. I know, I know, it's really embarrassing, and my voice sucks whale penis. But to my defense, I'm not supposed to be the lead singer. Yeah, but our lead singer was even worse! That's why, at 1:37 you can hear him BUTTING INTO MY SONG!!! AND SCREWING IT UP!!!! Needless to say, he got kicked out of the band the next day. Peace out, and try not to make too much fun of me.

Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats

This song is by a swede from argentinian parents.

who would've thought it was just a commercial?

Life sucks...

yeah, so I'm totally swamped in things that have to get done. And as always, I'm being completely lackadaisical (yes, it's a real word) about it.....

Things I have to do:
1) Get a friggin' internship
2) Do the actual internship for the next 6 months
3) Do my report on my internship
4) Narrow down my thesis subject
5) Do the actual Thesis
6) Study for the GMAT
7) Convince some poor business faculty that I'm the next big thing since the founders of Youtube, and that they should let me enroll in their MBA program
8) Pass my SQL programming class that's in German, and I don't understand shit
9) Have a threesome (the cool kind), not the two guys one girl kind

oh, and I need to fix my amp cos I haven't played in 5 months, yikes!

...so in a nutshell, my life sucks cos none of that is getting done.

Don't Watch It If You Haven't Seen Garden State!

It will ruin the ending for you!

Travis - Love Will Come Through
If I told you a secret
You won't tell a soul
Will you hold it and keep it alive
Cause it's burning a hole
And I can't get to sleep
And I can't live alone in this lie
So look up
Take it away
Don't look da-da-da- down the mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return
Anyone, anything, anyhow
So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you

Well I stand at the crossroads
Of highroads and lowroads
And I got a feeling it's right

If it's real what I'm feeling
There's no makebelieving
The sound of the wings of the flight of a dove
Take it away
Don't look da-da-da down the mountain

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return anyone anything anyhow...
So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you
So look up
Take it away
Don't look da-da-da- down

If the world isn't turning
Your heart won't return anyone anything anyhow...
So take me don't leave me
Take me don't leave me
Baby, love will come through it's just waiting for you
Love will come through
Love will come through
Love will come through

My Second Pic

This was taken in the Garden of Exile in the Jewish Museum in Berlin. Click on the pic for a larger version.
Enjoy

My Roomies

Just wanted to introduce to everyone my roommates and neighbors. The first one on the left is Rowena, she's from Ireland and lives in my flat. She speaks like über fast and sometimes it might be hard to understand her. She also gives me alcohol, so it's all good.

Then we have Katri who's from Finland. She curses like a pirate, like for example she keeps saying that she wants to fuck a dog in the ass. wtf? And she also gives me alcohol, which like I said, is good. She also likes to eat happy meals when going to McDonalds.

Thirdly, the guy with the baseball cap is Chuy, or Jesus, and he's like the funniest guy ever, and he is a music whore, which means that he likes every single song ever created. And when I say that he likes it, I mean that he knows the lyrics and everything. Oh yeah, and he plays guitar, so I have a guitar buddy. And finally, me.

Love you guys

First Viewer

Ok, that was fast, the first guy was from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland. Some random dude just stumbled onto my blog. Well thanks for stopping by!

New Blog Counter!

Yeah baby! I found a spiffy new blog counter! Now I can see how many people are actually bored enough to check out my blog. If you're curious, just check the bottom of the page and you'll see how many people have viewed this blog, starting from today. I'll be telling you who logged in first when it occurs, although that might be next july.

FYI, the counter doesn't take into account my views. So it only counts everyone else who comes here.

Until then, take care.

Photography and Photoshop

Well, I finally decided to take up photography. I'd been a bit reluctant because I couldn't afford a decent digital slr until now. Prices are dropping faster than Sony's stocks, and I'm about to bite the bullet. I have my eyes set on a Canon 400D.

But for now, I'll have to make due with my standard point and shoot camera, and I'm learning the ropes when it comes to photshop postprocessing. Let me give you guys an example. I took the following picture in april through a balcony in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

Original

Yeah, the weather sucked. I know. But the picture seemed a bit interesting nonetheless. The edge of the wall on the left side was tilted and wasn't completely vertical and the rail at the bottom wasn't horizontal either, so I corrected that. And then I used my photoshop magic to get the contrast out, and fix all that flatness in the colours and that uninspiring greyness. Et voila!

New One

Look at the clouds! Blue White Red, like the french flag, and I didn't do that, that was in the picture btw.

Hope you like it, until next time.

Cheers

What's up with hanging up in movies?

Ok, I'm sorry, but I get soooooo pissed when I'm watching a movie or a show, and somebody hangs up without saying "bye" or something. I mean really, if I'm in the middle of a conversation with my pal and he hangs up just like that, I'd get pissed, it's like totally rude. I don't understand why directors keep making such a glaring omission, I mean, is it because it makes the movie flow better? I don't know, but it sure as hell doesn't mimic real life.

Yummy!

New Semester

Hey guys, I can't believe it's been like 3 weeks since my last post. Sorry about that, and I'll be sure to post much more content in the next few days. I just want to say hi to all the new erasmus, and also the one's that have left.

Em, I miss you tons and you'll always be very special to me, Ro ud sabe que yo lo amo marica, Riikka you're always in my thoughts and wish you guys all the best.

Take care kids.

More proof that Bush is a sock puppet

Hey kiddies, just wanted to confirm what is blatantly obvious to 99.99999% of the world's population. Bush is just insanely dumb, and he can't answer a simple question without spilling the beans.

President Bush was in the midst of explaining how the attacks of 9/11 inspired his "freedom agenda" and the attacks on Iraq until a reporter, Ken Herman of Cox News, interrupted to ask what Iraq had to do with 9/11. "Nothing," Bush defiantly answered.

ooops....

click here for the article AND video

oh, by the way, totally unrelated to the 9/11 incident. Here's some more fun stuff.

Chillaxing

Yup, I'm just chillin'

My little cousin julian is also chillin'

You see that plate right beside Julian? It's been sitting there for 6 days now. It probably has an advanced colony of bacteria... I made him eat some of it, and that's why he's making faces... nah, just kidding about the eating part...or am I?

Picnics in Sweden

So, I've had a ton of picnics in this city. And we've been to the beach, or should I say the huge rocks where you have to sit, cause there's no sand. It's been awesome, and we've had good weather.

And I saw Martin for the first time in 10 years. The last time I had seen him he was 9, I mean that is a shit long time.

Israel and Lebanon

Ok, I'm sorry, but I just think that the Israelis are asking to get their asses handed to them with terrorist attacks. Attacking arbitrarily at your neighbours instead of trying to cooperate with them to stamp out Hezbollah's activities is a big mistake. They will be reaping what they are sowing right now. With every civilian's death, they will have countless martirs, militants and suicide bombers that will retaliate.

I hope all sides can someday come to their senses and stop this madness. But until then, I just want to say that George Bush is a sock puppet. I mean, for god's sake, he eats kittens!

Yummy!

Back in Sweden

How is everyone? I just got back to Sweden, and I'm really happy to see the people here. But of course, I miss my peeps in Worms incredibly. And it saddens me to know that some of you I will probably never see again, I love you all, and I wont forget you guys.

Crepes at Sarah, Jackie, Male and Lina

So Sarah made crepes for us last thursday, it was delicious, and it was really nice of her. We were bored out of our minds, so we started taking some stupid pictures, see the results.

The Strokes, Cologne and Switzerland - Ukraine

The Strokes kinda kicked ass, but not as much as I was hoping. I had to go all the way to Cologne, so my train ticket all by itself cost twice as much as my concert ticket, but oh well, it is Rock after all, and it'll take at least 109482095709275092850913 years before The Strokes set foot in Colombia.

They started with "Juicebox", and they played from what I can remember:
12:51
Izes of the World
Last Nite
Hard To Explain
Reptilia
Vision of Division
Heart In A Cage
You Only Live Once
And more....

Oh yeah, and the drummer threw his drum sticks, and my hand eye coordination prevented me from catching them, so the guy right next to me got them instead.

That's why I suck in sports, and that's why I suck in life.

Spain - Saudi Arabia

Hey Kids!

We went to Kaiserlaute on the 23rd of June to see how the town was coping with thousands of spaniards running around on the street. This guy walked up to a policeman and TOOK HIS HAT!!! And the policeman just smiled and took the spaniard's hat. And then like a gazillion people who didn't want to miss the chance, started taking pictures at the two of them.

You'll never know what a filthy drunk spaniard will do. hehe

Tool
KoRn
Deftones
Placebo
Alice In Chains
Kaiser Chiefs
She Wants Revenge
Bloodhound Gang
Keane
Angels And Airwaves
Depeche Mode
