Hola a todos.

Estamos buscando actores que quieran participar en un corto que estare rodando. El corto se trata de un fotografo que queda ciego, y las personas que lo influyen a traves de su vida. La historia tiene algunos trasfondos politicos/historicos.

Dia: Julio 11 del 2009
Hora: 10am - 6pm
Lugar: Calle 94 #18-34 Apto 701. Bogotá

Los interesados en hacer la prueba en la Candelaria el Domingo 12 de Julio, por favor mencionarlo al solicitar el material de preparacion.

En este momento contamos con todo el equipo necesario para rodar. Pero falta presupuesto para pagar sueldos y el refrigerio, jaja, entonces vamos a mandar una propuesta al fondo cinematografico. Aca pueden ver dos video filmados con el mismo equipo que yo tengo (no de mi autoria):

OBS: La camara es capaz de grabar con una resolucion mucho mas alta que la que se puede ver en linea, HD 1080p.

Los papeles protagonicos que estamos ofreciendo son:

Gabriel: Fotografo que queda ciego. Retraido, muy analitico. Actor debe parecer de 24 años y luego de 30.

Sofia: Trabaja en una ong de DDHH. De caracter fuerte, educada y gran conciencia social. Actriz debe parecer de 24 años y luego de 30. La actriz puede ser de cualquier nacionalidad, pero tiene que hablar bien español.

Emilio: Sindicalista, educado, de izquierda y por encima de todo pacifista. Es el padre de Gabriel. Sus escenas son durante los 80's cuando Gabriel es niño.

Se les proporcionara una copia del guion y un perfil del personaje que hayan escogido para hacer la prueba.

¿Se nos pagará?
Eso esta por definirse. El proyecto se enviara el 14 de julio a la convocatoria del fondo cinematografico. De conseguir fondos, se les pagara a todos los actores principales. El presupuesto tentativo de lograrse conseguir fondos, se publicara acá mismo el miercoles 8 de Julio. En octubre se sabra si fueron aprobados los fondos.

Importante:
1) Los que esten interesados en participar asi no haya presupuesto para pagar sueldos por favor mencionarlo durante el casting.

2) Llevar dos copias de la hoja de vida. Las necesitamos para mandarlas a la convocatoria, muy importante.

3) Ser puntuales.

4) Sonreir, la vida es bella.

I believe that the way the Junta has managed this crisis is inhumane, and is a complete violation of human rights. The images I've seen of the devastation and the continuing coverage has left me appalled and heartbroken. A government that puts the life of it citizens at stake based reservations about sovereignty violation by aid forces is a government that should never come to power.

That's the question a friend of mine brought up. Out of the girls I've been with, if I had to chose one right now, to spend the rest of my life with, who would I marry. A very tough question. But the answer was even more surprising.

I could not really concieve being with any of them for more than 5 or 6 years. I just cringed at the thought of all the possible altercations, and everyday drama. Jealousy, infidelity, or just plain insanity, none of them seemed to be ideal wives.

And then, someone I only met for 6 days popped into my mind. A girl I met in paris once. A girl named Laura. Crazy world this is... I barely know her, but somehow I do. At least she doesn't seem prone to drama and fights. But who knows if I'm right.

I must admit though, that some things hace to be reconsidered, if the girl you'd be willing to marry is someone you only managed to get to know in the span of three separate encountes.

My friend knew who Laura was, so when I answered my friend's question she had only one thing to say. Well, first there was a pause after she heard my answer, but then she just looked up at me, smiled, and said,"you're totally right".

I thought this might be a good opportunity to show you guys what goes into making a photo look a bit better. The photo below is the original. As you can see I kinda fiddled with the lighting a bit, and also blurred the background a bit. Not a major overhaul though.

So, as you can see. It's not all about the camera, you need a little bit of vision and knowing what to bring out to make a photo more aesthetically pleasing.

The Dysphoria in Beauty

I see certain beauty in this world. Beauty that makes me ache. It is human expression in architecture, sculputure, painting, music, dance, poetry and cinema that transports me to that all too familiar pain. I seek it knowing how futile it will be to avoid the emotional hangover that follows. Like Icarus I am oblivious to the aftermath of this celestial ascension. I seek it, because I marvel at the fact that us humans, mere biological entities with procreation and survival engrained in our evolutionary psyche, gravitate towards these forms of expression, for what purpose? What do we get from it? I don't have the answers, but there is one relevant question to be made. Why does it bring me such overwhelming malaise?

I believe that one day humanity will end. And with it, so will all of our creation. Just as soundwaves emanating from Chopin's Étude Op. 10, No. 12 dissipate into the air, like the dying gasp of a muse, so will our Monets decay, our Kubriks fade, and our Michaelangelos crumble. And that is where the beauty lies. Like a desert flower, surrounded by extreme hardships, humanity trascends the barren wasteland of war, apathy, injustice and envy, to create something breathtaking, however fleeting it may be. By witnessing this expression for a brief moment, humanity attains ascension to a plane beyond the biological chains that hold it firmly in this material world.

As Schopenhauer would say, art has the potential to offer intellectual deliverance from the hardships that surround us. It can trascend and thus make any worldly agenda, political or otherwise, irrelevant. Transitory as this spectacle is, it will be a miracle witnessed by us, giving us deliverance, after which it will dissipate, decay, fade and crumble, and us along with it.

And I cannot imagine a more tragically sublime thought...

I thought it would be apropriate to change the layout as I'm no longer in Stockholm, and the header just didn't apply to what's going on in this moment of my life. Lots of parties, looking for work, but mostly just meeting a ton of new people. Plus, the black background doesn't hurt when you're looking at photos.

Also, the colour pattern used for "the story so far..." lettering is actually taken from the Golden Skans photo. That's all wheat and sunlight.

Please let me know if you guys think the change was for the better or not!

Goodbye Sweden

I have decided, due to an innordinate amount of reasons, that Sweden is not the right place for me at this moment. The decision wasn't based on past relationships or anything else regarding my love life, as many of you would like to think. The reasons are deeper and much more serious and personal. It was a very tough call nonetheless, but I feel it's the right thing to do.

Emeline: If you're reading this, it breaks my heart not to be able to see you, but it is very comforting to know that you are living a very happy moment in your life. I love you and I always will, one way or another.

Hey people, well, I'm terribly sorry about this. But my laptop is dead... it died over a month ago, and I have tried resuscitating him in multiple ways, but to no avail. Furthermore, this has crippled my capacity to keep going with my photography for the time being, until I get a new computer.
